Halloween Goodies

I realize that Halloween is over but I thought I would share with you a few of the goodies I made. Most of them are cup cakes, but Frankenstein is a brownie dipped in Wilton' s Candy Melts.

The little spider guy was my kids favorite. To make the spider I first gave him a light coat of frosting them covered him in chocolate sprinkle. His legs are made of black licorice rope. His nose is a red hot and his eyes are small marshmallows cut in half with colored icing in the center.

Welcome to Flowers and Flour

I decided to start a blog to help me keep track and share two of my passions...gardening and baking.

I am a plant nerd at heart. I got bit by the plant bug about 10 years ago, though I think it might be hereditary since my mother and both of my grandmothers love to garden. I have been known to travel many hours to buy rare and unusual plants. I also love to shop and browse through any garden center that comes my way (or I make sure comes my way).

I have always had a sweet tooth, so what better way to satisfy my craving than to bake? When I first started to bake, it was merely for the love of sweets. But, I soon discovered that desserts seem to taste so much better when they are pretty...presentation goes a long way! I am still learning how to decorate and I would really love to take a cake decorating class to learn some icing techniques.

Anyone want to give me some lessons? I can pay in cookies...or plants!!! :)
